Careful liaison between the two site teams was crucial to minimise the impact on other businesses within the estate.”Neil Corbin, Project Manager –
Once we’d created the work methodology specific to this unit and assessed all the risks – including those presented by Covid19 – we started by stripping-out the previous tenants fit out. These included partitions, ceilings, lighting, flooring and WCs. The electrical installation was overhauled and brought up to current regulations. The retained ventilation and air conditioning system was also overhauled and serviced.
New ceilings, LED lighting and floor finishes were fitted in the office and WCs, with redecoration throughout the unit including the warehouse floor. New sanitaryware was also installed in the WCs to complete their warehouse refurbishment.
Externally new windows and doors were installed including the warehouse sectional overhead door. Rooflights were replaced and a new coating was applied to the roof and gutters. The cladding was repaired and redecorated, the concrete hardstand was also repaired and paint was applied to identify new car parking bays.
Although the site was within an industrial estate, a major public highway project was adjacent to our site, so careful liaison between the two site teams was crucial to minimise the impact on other businesses within the estate, and ensure the health and safety of all concerned were maintained at all times.
This warehouse refurbishment in Maidenhead followed similar specifications as the Unit B at Pioneers Industrial Estate.
