The Clove Building, SW1
Located in The Clove Building, across the river Thames, our clients Useful Simple instructed us to transform their space into a flexible office workspace through a 20-week refurbishment program, one that reflected their work in architecture, design, and engineering. Starting with a Cat A office refurbishment and finishing with a Cat B fit-out, we created a sleek, industrial-style inspired office workspace that aligned with their ethos.

Great to work on this project to realise the clients own design scheme which was inspired by the industrial Cat A scheme we also completed on this building.”

Creating the office space
The client had a clear design scheme for their new office space, inspired by the industrial look and feel of the building and they instructed us at Open to make their vision for the space real. As the main contractors we devised a schedule of works of 20 weeks that included a Cat A and Cat B fitout. We began by stripping out the previous fittings of the office to reveal structural walls and exposed brickwork, before installing an exposed M&E system to further enhance the industrial feel.
The second phase of the office workspace was focused on the fit-out refurbishment. The client wanted a space that would facilitate private conversations and teamwork, but also incorporate quiet space for individual work. We used glazed partitions to divide the space, while pine effect flooring in a neutral tone created a feeling of openness.
Wellbeing office workspace
Employee wellbeing was a key focus of the project. The 8000 sq. ft. of office refurbishment also included showers and changing rooms, spacious break-out areas, and a modern kitchen. The resulted office workspace is both creative and healthy, with an edgy industrial design that invites to collaborative working, better focus and enhanced work performance.
